Changelog

What's new

Pally gets better every day. Everything here shipped to everyone — and you can always just ask Pally what's new.

Actively working on

  • Pictures on demand: asking for an image - "send me your selfie!" included - gets the photo straight away instead of "I can't send images", and Pally remembers the photos and files it has already sent in your chat.
  • Pally notices when there's something genuinely useful it could do for you that you've never tried, and mentions it at a natural moment - one gentle offer, never a sales pitch, and never twice if you say no.
  • Ask Pally what's new: it answers from its real changelog, including what's actively being worked on.
  • Tell Pally about something it can't do yet, or something that bugged you - it remembers, and messages you the day that thing ships.
  • Group invites that open straight into the group, with no extra phone number or verification code.
  • Groups using a member's connected Notion, either read-only or with full writing access, or sharing just one linked page.
  • Choosing exactly which connected account a group may use when you share an app, so your other accounts stay personal.
  • Real page titles for Notion pages shared with a group, instead of a generic label.
  • Group sharing that saves itself: every change on the dashboard applies the moment you make it.
  • Birthday reminders that arrive on the eve of the birthday, instead of a week ahead.
  • Calling Pally by phone: dial the same number you already text it on and it picks up live, answering only to your own verified number.
  • Instant Google Calendar answers in chat and live on calls: "what's on today?" no longer waits on background work, and rescheduling no longer needs a slow lookup first.
  • Follow-through on phone-call promises: if Pally says it will check something and text you after the call, it does.
  • An included amount of call time on Pally Free and Pally Pro, with Pally wrapping up the conversation gracefully - never cutting you off mid-sentence.
  • Instant email answers: "did my lawyer reply?" searches your connected Gmail or Outlook right away, in chat and on calls.
  • Instant reads of any one WhatsApp or iMessage chat - "what did Sarah say?", "catch me up on the family group" - in chat and on calls.
  • Instant Granola meeting recaps: "what were the action items from my last meeting?" answered with your latest meetings' notes.

Improvements

  • Conversation watches got sharper from their first day in the wild: replies arrive noticeably faster and split into natural message bubbles, Pally checks your calendar, tasks, and email before answering on your behalf instead of hedging, and it remembers what you told it about the situation in your own chat.
  • If the other person asks for something Pally isn't sure it should share, it now checks with you first - "they're asking for your flight details, happy for me to share?" - and once you say yes, Pally sends the answer for you.
  • Watched conversations now catch up automatically after your Mac was offline, restarting, or updating, so messages that arrived during a gap still get their reply instead of being missed silently.

July 12, 2026

New features

  • Ask Pally to watch a conversation and reply for you: "reply to my lawyer until the contract is sorted" or "answer my grandad and only tell me if something needs me". Works on WhatsApp, iMessage, Gmail, Outlook, and Slack. Pally replies from your account in your style, loops you in when you asked it to, stops when the job is done, and every active watch is visible and stoppable from your dashboard.
  • Pally can now write to your work apps, not just read them: add a task to a Notion board, update a page or database row, file a Linear issue, or create a file or spreadsheet in Google Drive. Every write is confirmed with you first.
  • Pally can now reply inside your existing Gmail and Outlook email threads, and send new email from Outlook. Every draft is confirmed with you before it sends.
  • Pally can now reschedule, edit, cancel, and RSVP to Google Calendar events, not just create them. Attendees are only notified when you want them to be.

Improvements

  • If you go quiet, Pally checks in once before pausing your automations, and everything picks back up the moment you text again.
  • Pally now notices time passing. After days of silence it stops replying as if no time had passed, and old unanswered questions stay in the past unless you bring them up.
  • One Apple app-specific password now connects iCloud Mail, iCloud Calendar, and iCloud Contacts together, and Pally offers that when a task needs it.
  • Morning briefs are shorter and more worth reading: routine items are dropped, and stale or already-handled ones are skipped.
  • Background automations that hit their per-run work limit now save what they found instead of losing it and redoing the work next run.
  • Personal Microsoft accounts (@hotmail.com, @outlook.com) do not support inbox search on Microsoft's side; Pally now knows this and reads your recent messages instead.
  • Searching your recent activity now covers your connected Gmail too, so questions like "what's happening with that deal?" find the real thread.
  • If a background lookup runs out of time, Pally reports what it found and what it could not check, instead of a bare "that took too long".
  • Drafts you never confirmed now lapse quietly with no nagging, and Pally stays honest about them if you ask later.
  • Urgent alerts arrive faster.
  • Alerts state times in your local timezone.
  • The task tracker now only picks up things you personally need to do, works out real due dates from phrases like "by Wednesday", and skips minor chat coordination. Existing task lists get lighter too.
  • The task tracker recognizes when a new to-do is really one it already tracks and refines it instead of listing it twice.
  • When you ask Pally to relay an apology or a specific sentiment, it delivers your words faithfully instead of softening them.
  • Signing into popular sites (Partiful, OpenTable, DoorDash, airlines, and more) no longer asks you to paste a login link.
  • If you set up travel dates, daily schedules switch back to home time automatically when you get home.
  • When background research fails, Pally tells you the real reason instead of a vague "it timed out".

Bug fixes

  • Recurring reminders now fire at the time you asked for, in your timezone.
  • Pally no longer invents contacts' birthdays from party invites or event chatter, and stops repeating the same upcoming birthday every day.
  • If a message you approved fails to send, Pally tells you instead of dropping the failure silently, and offers WhatsApp when your Mac is offline for an iMessage send.
  • Approving a call with "yep" now just places the call, with no second confirmation. Call reports clearly separate voicemail from actually talking to someone.
  • Automations no longer re-pitch a draft you already declined, and daily digests stay quiet when their sources are down.
  • Duplicate alerts about the same message or voicemail are now suppressed for hours across all your automations.
  • Pally no longer shows internal chat IDs when asking which conversation you meant, and quoted drafts stay in one message bubble.
  • Sending an email draft now takes one confirmation: "yes, send" sends.
  • Email subjects and bodies are cleaned before sending, so dashes and spacing stay readable.
  • WhatsApp checks no longer hang when WhatsApp's backend is having trouble; Pally says it could not check and answers from other sources.
  • Morning briefs no longer show the same message twice, and busy group chats generate fewer duplicate checks.

July 11, 2026

New features

  • Pally now checks in on you a day or two after big personal moments - a breakup, bad news, a big win - the way a friend would.

Improvements

  • The dashboard now tells you when the Mac companion app needs an update or lost Full Disk Access, so contact syncing never fails quietly.
  • Pairing codes that were never used now show as expired in the dashboard, with a clear way to request a fresh one.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed honest replies about your connections sometimes getting rewritten into wrong ones (like "not connected yet" for an account that was connected) by an overcautious double-check.

July 10, 2026

New features

  • You can now connect more than one WhatsApp account, like a personal and a business number. Pally says which account a message came from, asks which to send from when it is not obvious, and keeps everything working across all of them.
  • Pally can now create real WhatsApp polls: a native question with tappable options, drafted for your approval.
  • Pally can now send real file attachments in chat: ask for a CSV or an export and it arrives as a file, not a wall of text.
  • Pally can now read spreadsheet and document links you text it: Google Sheets, Docs, and Drive share links plus Excel, Word, and CSV files, every tab included. If a file is not shared for link access, it tells you how to fix that.
  • You can now connect Google Sheets, and Pally offers to connect Drive or Sheets when a request needs them.
  • Pally can now send Slack messages after your confirmation.
  • Pally now builds a real relationship summary for each contact you talk to - who they are to you and what is going on between you - by reading your recent conversations. It fills in automatically over the first few days.
  • Pally can now pull older messages for a specific WhatsApp chat straight from your phone when the answer might be further back.

Improvements

  • Pally Pro's monthly background work allowance has doubled, so an always-on hourly automation plus normal alerts fits comfortably inside the plan.
  • Hourly automations now cost a small fraction of what they used to, with no change to what they check or when they message you.
  • Asking for alerts about important emails or messages now tunes the built-in instant alerts instead of creating a slower duplicate automation.
  • If your account is paused by its monthly usage cap, every message gets a short acknowledgement and your requests are picked up the moment the pause lifts.
  • WhatsApp sends retry automatically through brief provider hiccups, and Pally always says clearly whether a message was sent, queued, or failed.
  • WhatsApp history searches wait longer for results during slow syncs.
  • Pally now searches your WhatsApp messages by what they say, not just chat names, so plans get found even in an unrelated-sounding chat.
  • Pally now knows when a WhatsApp chat's history has not finished syncing and says so, instead of concluding the chat is empty.
  • Morning briefs and daily digests can no longer silently skip a day, and a brief that was gathered but not delivered is surfaced instead of lost.
  • When Pally runs out of working room mid-request, it wraps up with what it found or moves the rest to a background check, instead of asking you to resend.
  • Recurring reminders default to your waking hours: "every 2 hours" means 08:00 to 22:00 your time unless you ask for overnight.
  • Tasks Pally quietly noticed in your chats now show up in your morning brief to confirm or dismiss, after checking they were not already handled elsewhere.
  • The daily task sweep now flags overdue items other people owe you, notes when something has been chased with no reply, and retires suggestions you never confirmed.
  • Pally mentions when nothing is being tracked for something you seem to be waiting on, and offers to track it.
  • Contact phone numbers can no longer be lost: every number Pally learns is kept, including through contact merges.
  • Alerts arrive right away even when Pally's servers restart during an update.
  • Alert timing is clearer: Pally tells you about the short default wait before pinging, and switches to instant alerts if you ask.
  • Pally gives a straight, accurate answer when you ask why an alert or reply took a while.
  • Plans still being decided are presented as unsettled in briefs and summaries, naming what is still open.
  • Pally asks a pending question once, presents one confirmable draft at a time, and closes the loop when it later finds an answer.
  • Pally no longer refuses to look at a web page just because the request mentioned a login wall; it reads what is public and reports back.
  • Pally asks for call permission with one short, natural question, and reports what actually happened from the transcript.
  • When someone answers a call Pally places, Pally starts speaking sooner, so the pickup no longer feels like a spam call.
  • The Integrations page shows whether the Mac companion is running, when it last refreshed, and whether an update is available.
  • The Tasks page is now the one place for tracked items; the leftover open-loops list is gone from the dashboard.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a loop where Pally's own iMessage notifications on your connected Mac could trigger repeated alerts about Pally's own texts.
  • Asking an unrelated question no longer cancels a message you already approved, and if a queued draft is cancelled Pally always says so.
  • Read-only lookups like searching your email or WhatsApp history no longer get wrongly blocked.
  • Emails with cc recipients no longer fail to send.
  • Very large email threads no longer break Pally's reading mid-task; it retries with a lighter fetch.
  • Fixed a technical error that occasionally made a daily digest fail to arrive.
  • Removed a leftover quiet-hours setting from the dashboard that no longer did anything.
  • Founding users' plan status now correctly reflects what they can do, like making calls.
  • Asking Pally to chase someone now wires the follow-up to your actual conversation with that person, so reminders reach them.
  • Fixed a rare bug where Pally could send you a private note to itself instead of an actual reply.
  • Fixed telling Pally your name or email silently failing to save for new users.
  • Changing a reminder time mid-setup no longer leaves you with two reminders.
  • Replies that promised work ("building it now") and then went silent are fixed: long answers no longer cut off mid-task.
  • Recurring automations that needed a quick lookup first now actually get created, instead of Pally claiming they were "queued up".
  • One-time reminders now survive inactivity and temporary delivery failures, and an explicit pause always wins.
  • Removed a hidden three-notification limit; Pally waits only when the messaging provider has actually refused delivery.
  • Email automations now use exactly the tools your connected account really has, even for very long tool catalogs.

July 8, 2026

New features

  • You can now ask Pally to capitalize properly. Pally texts in lowercase by default, but say the word and every reply switches to sentence case - reminders and alerts included.
  • Pally can now run multi-step plans: ask for something that spans people and replies, like booking with whoever answers first, and it tracks the steps and reports honestly.
  • You can now connect Apple (iCloud) Calendar by asking Pally in chat or from my.pally.com. Pally reads your calendars, checks availability, and adds events after a yes.
  • Pally quietly picks up useful things from your busiest group chats about once a week.

Improvements

  • Pally now checks your recent messages across iMessage, WhatsApp, and email before nudging you or answering for you, so if you already settled something in another chat it knows.
  • When you change your mind about something in progress, Pally's memory catches the reversal and updates what it believes, instead of keeping the old plan alive.
  • Tell Pally about a life change, like moving cities, and it updates its memory on the spot.
  • Pally's memory stays cleaner on its own: duplicates stop piling up, stale time-bound facts expire, and news trivia is not stored as personal memory.
  • Pally now finds memories by meaning, not just matching words.
  • Pally's own phone number and email address are now part of Pally Max. Leaving Max turns those contact points off while the rest of your plan keeps working.
  • When your Mac companion is offline, asking about iMessage gets a straight answer that your Mac is disconnected, instead of the request just failing.
  • Brief WhatsApp hiccups are retried automatically, so momentary blips are less likely to fail a question.
  • When Pally cannot read your iMessages because of a problem in the companion app itself, it says so plainly and points you to the latest download.
  • Immediate alerts are reserved for truly urgent items; other important news waits for the morning brief.
  • Failed sends now retry once automatically before Pally reports a failure.
  • Message drafts always say exactly who they will go to.
  • The dashboard greets you by your actual name once Pally has learned it, instead of your phone number.

Bug fixes

  • Connecting WhatsApp no longer asks for your phone number when Pally already has it, even after a pairing code expires.
  • Asking Pally to delete your data now actually works, from chat, dashboard, or support. If anything goes wrong, Pally says plainly that nothing was deleted.
  • Telling Pally to stop asking about "gmail" (and similar shorthand) during setup now records the right preference instead of erroring.
  • Marking a recently learned memory as "not right" now opens the correction box right away.
  • Sharing your location on iMessage is picked up right away instead of minutes later.
  • Disconnecting a browser login or connected app now removes it from the dashboard instead of leaving a dead entry.
  • Long replies no longer cut off mid-sentence.
  • The same message can no longer send twice after a crash.

July 7, 2026

New features

  • Pally can now text people and take actions live during a call: a spoken yes sends it right then.
  • Pally can now list your recent calls and pull any call's transcript.
  • Pally can now create images: ask it to draw or design something and the picture arrives right in the chat.
  • Pally can now create Google Calendar events and invite people by email, after showing you exactly what it will create.
  • Pally now learns from your own conversations, emails, and calls - not just chats with Pally. New impressions start tentative and fade unless they keep proving true.
  • Free users connecting a fourth app can now try a one-time 7-day Pally Pro preview in chat.
  • Pally Max calls keep going past the included 2 hours; extra time bills per minute, with a heads-up text.
  • The Free plan now includes three connected apps instead of one.
  • Referral codes now work any time: text one to Pally after joining and still get your free month of Pally Pro.

Improvements

  • "Call me" rings you immediately, and retrying a call you just approved dials straight away.
  • Call summaries now come from the real transcript, not template text.
  • Voicemail is detected more reliably, and Pally reports what message it left.
  • A quick "yep" can no longer send an old draft: stale drafts get re-checked with you first and expire if unanswered.
  • Pally can always tell you exactly what is waiting on your approval, and confirms when a draft goes out.
  • Declining a draft with "no, do this instead" gets both parts handled.
  • Contact details from WhatsApp and iMessage show up several times faster after connecting.
  • Pally leaves calendars shared with you alone unless you ask, and says whose calendar an event is from.
  • Mac pairing codes now last 20 minutes and cannot get lost or replaced before you use them.
  • Alerts stay current: if plans change right after Pally flags a thread, it follows up with the update.
  • Pally skips the "want me to respond?" nudge when you already replied yourself.
  • Alerts spell out dates plainly, like "tue jul 7", instead of a stale "tomorrow".
  • Asking to use a specific email account by address finds the right one, and mismatches list your real accounts.
  • Pally asks where you are based when it does not know your timezone, unlocking your daily brief and local-time reminders.
  • Connected accounts show which account they actually are, everywhere.
  • Pally now finds the right person even from a misspelling or a description like "my climbing friend".
  • Sending a message works from just a name: Pally finds the right chat itself and only asks on a genuine tie.
  • Asking Pally to message someone during a call finds the right person reliably, even when the line garbles the name.
  • Results of in-call requests come back on the call itself more often, not as a text after you hang up.
  • Requests during a live call get the same smart model that handles your texts.
  • Pally now always calls plans by their full names, like Pally Pro and Pally Max.

Bug fixes

  • No more robotic "i didn't actually complete that" corrections: Pally checks the facts and says exactly what happened.
  • Important email alerts deliver reliably again, even for busy threads.
  • Paused automations stay quiet instead of texting failure notices.
  • Mac pairing now works on Intel Macs and shows a clear error instead of "Connecting" forever.
  • Pally no longer invents a connection problem when it simply has not checked yet.
  • Fixed rare stray system text appearing as a message from Pally.
  • Pally now reads links you drop into iMessage instead of ignoring them, and photos with captions arrive reliably.
  • Fixed live-call reports echoing internal instruction text into the chat.

  • Group send approvals are one-time only, never standing permission.
  • Confirmed calls now start on the first yes.
  • Call summaries are more accurate on bad connections, voicemail, and carrier errors.

Bug fixes

  • Confirming a draft gets a straight "sent", not a false "I may not have completed that".
  • When an email truly cannot be sent, Pally says why and one ask redoes it.
  • Wrong-thread email replies are caught before Pally asks you to approve them.
  • Pally no longer texts you about internal automation hiccups.
  • Daily calendar updates cover your own calendars, not ones other people shared with you.
  • Daily briefs and other updates that look things up on the web deliver reliably again.

  • People and contact memory now come from the contact system, so answers about people are more consistent.
  • Answers about changing information, like hours, prices, scores, and flights, check live sources more carefully.
  • Pally is less likely to claim something was sent, scheduled, or saved unless it really happened.

  • Pally can turn follow-up tasks from a phone call into the text thread.
  • Inbound calls end cleanly when you hang up, and quiet or empty calls no longer create noisy recaps.
  • Phone sign-in and voice calls are safer when a number could belong to more than one account.
